The Israel Reform Movement represents a growing network of more than 50 Reform congregations across Israel. Together, they engage Israelis in Jewish learning, life cycle events, holiday and Shabbat services, social action, and cultural programming.
As the central address for this congregational network, the IMPJ represents the Reform Movement in Israel on a wide range of topics in public forums, political arenas, and media ranging from such topics as:
- Growth of Reform, liberal Judaism in Israel;
- Recognition of non-Orthodox practice, funding and policy;
- The Western Wall Agreement – Kotel Compromise – and its implementation;
- Observance and ritual;
- Social action and the complexity of Israeli society;
- Israeli – Diaspora relations;
- Advocacy and policy for civil rights in Israel (weddings, conversions, etc).
Our public relations efforts strive to reach Jews around the world – whether identifying as Reform, Progressive or liberal Jews, or guided by the same values (tikkun olam, human rights, advocacy, etc) – through interviews and updates on significant activities happening across Israel; this includes our rabbinic leadership, our board, and partner organizations as well. We invite you to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for frequent updates and read our latest articles in the news here.
