A Reform Hanukah Candle is a strange Israeli Hanukah candle, it loves its siblings on the hanukiah that try with all their might to burn each other (and it). But unlike them it doesn’t want to burn alone, it’s interested in being part of the whole light of the hanukiah. But it also doesn’t want to give up on its own clear light, brave and honoring, in order to tell a special Hanukah story of our own, of the fight against the forces of darkness that try to force us into political horse trading, exploiting the base drive for power, and over what? Over the beauty that the Jewish tradition can express in so many pure ways of life and practice, traditions, belief and faith. Another truth among many, and not the one and only truth.
