Ohel Avraham, Haifa

Ohel Avraham, which resides in the Leo Buck Education Center in the French Carmel, is an active and vibrant center of progressive Judaism in Haifa, which sees its purpose in creating a unique, egalitarian and open framework that invites every man and woman from different and varied backgrounds to explore, learn and develop their Jewish identity.

Ohel Avraham invites the public to a renewed Jewish experience in circle of life ceremonies (reform weddings, bar/bat mitzvah, etc.) and prayers on Shabbat and holidays in an egalitarian and pluralistic spirit. The community maintains an extensive cultural and creative activity, as well as social justice activities; a beit midrash in Hebrew and English, and weekly parsha and Talmud courses in cooperation with the Leo Baeck Education Center.
