Asking the important questions:
Part of my role as the Union for Reform Judaism Youth Division Shaliach includes staffing a birthright trip to Israel every few months. The gift of Birthright is a unique one founded and funded by a bunch of Jewish philanthropists who decided exactly 10 years ago to start this project and bring to Israel Jewish young adults (ages 18-27) who never before visited the homeland on a peer led trip. Participants in the Birthright trip get a round trip ticket and 10 days of a rather intense tour of Israel, for no charge what so ever. Now that 10 years have passed the Birthright concept may sound obvious to many but for those who were in their 20's before birthright was an option the idea of a free trip to Israel offered to all Jews in the appropriate age is nothing short than amazing.
